Marla Mase Releases Deluxe Edition of Her Album

Sunday, 03 March 2013 12:58 Published in Music News
Marla Mase has released the DELUXE Edition of her album “Speak” on February 28, 2013. Mase continues to reach into her repertoire of musings and scenes vividly opening her world of words to us. The subjects vary with erotic storytelling and sexual imagery that is provoking in its reach into the audio faculties of the mind. Veering to include "AnnaRexia," a song about the disorder, with a reggae blend chorus that backdrops the break-down of the self with an uncompromising realism. The work that Marla offers here is a presentation of the commonality of fears we must all face. She serves up a rough cadence that tackles anger in an unusual way.

Political action and feminist concerns fuels Marla’s artistic output. “AnnaRexia” is spearheading the Stay Imperfect Project or Love Your Butt Campaign, which she created to empower women to not only accept but love themselves and their bodies. Proceeds from “AnnaRexia” as well as emerging artist, Lael Summer?s track, “The Good Fight” (whose EP Marla co-produced with Doncker) will go towards theprojectheal.org, a non-profit organization founded by two teenage eating disorder survivors, that raises scholarship money for girls whose families cannot afford to send them to treatment.
